It was love at first sight when I found this gorgeous gilt gold chandelier dripping with crystals, and I knew it had to be mine. A relic of a french chateau, it now adorns our master bedroom, its curled structure giving it a sweet whimsical quality.

There is perhaps nothing more gratifying than enjoying the bounties of a backyard or garden in summer. With lemon, orange, and pineapple guava trees in their ripened conditions, I decided to create a simple summer fruit bowl and use it as a centerpiece on the backyard coffee table. It took about seven minutes to create and is a delight to see and eat!

Although its color was austere, I loved its simplicity and thought it could be perfect for displaying a house plant or (my favorite) coral. And so the painting adventure began!

The fresh and simple palette, lines of shade trees, gravel floor surface, and rustic table remind me of being in a lovely Parisian park.

These one-of-a-kind pieces usually come from French chateaus, their rarity and beauty making them pieces fairytales are made of!

Read MoreWhen my darling bride-to-be friend asked if I could help her antique her large, new silver mirror for her wedding, I was thrilled to take on the challenge! She needed the mirror frame to look gold and aged -- its purpose to provide the reception's seating chart via beautiful calligraphy and compliment the gold, neutral, and blush pink tones of her wedding. In under two hours, we transformed her mirror from new to antique. So let's begin!
Read MoreAs promised from my last post, Creating Our Home Office, here is how we designed our home office from scratch. It all began with a custom-made desk that my husband built and I painted!
Read MoreJust like a nest, our house is "perched" atop a hill and often feels like a treehouse. The height gives it a beautiful view, and the bonus room at the top front of the house has one of the best views of all. For this reason, I thought it was imperative that this view be enjoyed and admired every day. And so, a home office was born!
Read MoreI'm honored and thrilled to announce Nora's Nest's nomination for the Liebster Award! The talented and sweet Julie Reinwald, creator of the blog Renaissance Mermaid, has nominated my blog. In receiving the nomination, I was asked to answer eleven of Julie's questions and give eleven random facts about Nora's Nest and myself. Here they are!

Read MoreSeeing as how I am obsessed with nests (obviously) and all things naturally beautiful, there really couldn't be a more perfect holiday for me than Easter. For this year's celebration, I decorated my buffet table with simple decor in variations of nests and eggs. The only other thing this table needs is a large display of delicious deviled eggs!
Read MoreI can't help but smile when admiring this still life, "Branch of Lemons", by Claude Monet. Its vibrant yellows and weightless quality says it all for spring. Whenever I find something so inspiring, it makes me think about how to incorporate the theme into my home. Planting lemon trees in old terra cotta pots, giving pops of yellow to my decor (via pillows, throws, flowers), or even attempting my own oil painting of a lemon branch are a few ideas this masterpiece creates. What a way to be inspired :)
