Liebster Award for Nora's Nest
I'm honored and thrilled to announce Nora's Nest's nomination for the Liebster Award! The talented and sweet Julie Reinwald, creator of the blog Renaissance Mermaid, has nominated my blog. 11 Questions and Answers:
1) Why did you start blogging?
Some friends enjoyed seeing Facebook and Instagram photos of my house and home decor. They told me that if I love decorating and photography that much, I should start a blog! And Nora's Nest was born.
2) What has surprised you most about blogging since you began?
When I started Nora's Nest, I was under the impression that it was an exclusively solitary experience. I can't believe how many wonderful bloggers I've met in the process. It's really rewarding to meet such talented individuals who also know about your blog.
3. What has been your favorite travel destination to date, and where would you most like to go in the future?
Montenegro, Peru, and New Zealand blew me away. They have a magical quality I'll never forget. I'd love to go on an African safari someday.
4. What's the best gift you've ever received?
My husband flew
from London to the States
to surprise me. Masked and fully clad in a penguin suit, he delivered me roses and a gift before revealing it was him!
5. What's your favorite movie of all time?
French Kiss.
6. What is your favorite childhood memory?
In autumn, my sister and I would run around our backyard to catch crunchy leaves falling from the trees.
7. What ability or skill do you most wish you had?
To play the piano like a concert pianist.
8. What do you think is your best characteristic?
Optimism.
9. What feeds your creativity?
Van Gogh paintings, nature, beautiful parts of the world, other people's homes and decor, celebrations and holidays.
10. What's one thing you'd rather pay someone to do than do yourself?
Ironing.
11. What is your favorite flower?
Peonies.

11 Random Facts:
1) I've been chased by a bear. (It was ballet summer camp in Taos Ski Valley, NM. I was 16. The bear seemed hungry. I ran away in tights, a leotard, and ballet flats.)
2) I'm obsessed with gum. Orbit peppermint is the best.
3) I've visited 43 countries in my life. Japan was my most recently visited country.
4) I like emptying the dishwasher.
5) I went to the University of Southern California and majored in film production. The production design classes made me fall in love with interior design.
6) Hats are my favorite accessory.
7) I've held a baby tiger.
8) I've dreamed of being a ballerina, an actress, a singer, a painter, and a pianist.
9) I've spoken with Tom Cruise.
10) I love bird nests, coral, and manzantia branches.
11) Key lime pie is my favorite birthday cake.
