Cinco de Mayo Mantle Decor
My favorite thing about Cinco de Mayo decorations is the boldness and richness of the colors. From hot pink to bright blue and every color in between, a few pops of florescent color can turn a neutral space into a festive one!
Inspired by the recent cherry blossom season, I attached some beautiful Mexican crepe-paper flowers to the branches that flank my mirror on the mantle.
It doesn't take many flowers to make a lovely, colorful statement!
The urns and mercury glass votives are filled with mounds of moss. One flower in each votive allows the color-love to be spread around.
Mexican paper flowers usually come with a wire wrapped in green crepe-paper. This allows you to shape the stem however you wish! I love to twirl the wire around my finger and create a curled stem effect.
These flowers are not only ideal for Cinco de Mayo decor, they are also perfect for May Day! Use them year after year to create fun, celebratory memories. Fun fact: these flowers actually came from my wedding rehearsal bouquet, making it a special treat to see them again every year.
Happy Cinco de Mayo decorating, and thanks for visiting Nora's Nest! More May 5th ideas to come soon :)
