Donuts and Decor
Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday! New Year’s is just around the corner, so there’s still some time to enjoy the festive decorations and lazy days ahead.
To give our home a bit of a fresh look, I’ve rearranged some decor items. Since many of the colors I use during Christmas-time (such as white, silver, and gold) compliment New Year’s as well, there’s a perfect excuse to re-purpose the items. Here, I’ve switched out my
and
with a bare manzanita tree. In a large silver bowl, the tree is surrounded by fresh green moss while the pinecones adorn its branches.
I’ve never met anyone who loves donuts more than my husband. So during the holidays, on our first ever attempt, we decided to make some donuts of our own! Using a wonderful recipe (below) from Smitten Kitchen, we created these delicious treats. And what’s a treat without a chic display?
After frying the dough, we glazed half of the batch and sugared the other.
Placing the donuts on china and a wood cake stand gives them presence in the dining room.

Thank you for visiting, and wishing you a Happy New Year!!
XOXO,
